B.J. Harris
B.J. Harris is the Owner/Operator of Harris Media Services and Varsity Sports Live.
Now entering his 22nd year in broadcasting, B.J. is passionate about high school sports and promoting area student athletes. A 2005 graduate of Pittsburg State University, B.A. Communication; Broadcasting, B.J. began his career working at the Pitt State channel CAPS 13 as well as local radio station 99.1 KSEK.
After graduation B.J. worked as the Sports Director of KADL 102.9 in Imperial, Nebraska, before moving back to Pittsburg. Working in every possible role, B.J. eventually served as the Operations Manager at KKOW before leaving full-time radio in 2011. B.J. had served as the voice of the Girard Trojans for 15 years and also spent 10 years as the sideline reporter and color analyst for Pittsburg State University football before moving to Spring Hill.
Additionally, Harris spent six years as the Executive Director of the Crawford County Convention and Visitors Bureau, while also continuing his broadcasting career.
In 2017, B.J. and Leslie started their first channel, Girard Sports Live. Since then, they have grown Varsity Sports Live into 9 channels, which now cover schools throughout Eastern Kansas. Those partners schools include Girard, Columbus, Galena, Spring Hill, Paola, Louisburg, Tonganoxie, Baxter Springs, and Baldwin.
"I believe Varsity Sports Live is filling the void left by radio, by providing localized, high quality coverage of high school athletes," said Harris. "These kids work hard and deserve the opportunity to be showcased on a quality platform. Likewise the people who have supported them deserve the chance to see them excel and share those experiences, regardless if they can be there in person. That's what we offer with Varsity Sports Live!"
For the past six years, B.J has also had the opportunity to promote high school athletes in his full-time role as the Executive Director of the Kansas Shrine Bowl.
B.J. and Leslie reside in Spring Hill, Kansas with their daughters.

Leslie Harris is the Director of Sales and Business Manager for Harris Media Services and Varsity Sports Live.
Leslie is a very talented designer, copywriter and advertising specialist. A 2005 graduate of Pittsburg State University, B.A. Communication; Advertising, Leslie began her career working with the Pitt State campus newspaper and other local publications.
After graduation, Leslie served as the Creative Services Director for the McCook Radio Group in McCook, Nebraska, before moving back to Pittsburg to join Names & Numbers as a graphic artist. Leslie has served in a creative capacity for the Southeast Kansas Humane Society, United Way of Southeast Kansas and Southwest Missouri, and Lego Education. In addition, she has led a variety of non-profit and community organizations.
In 2018, Leslie completed her degree in Elementary Education from Pittsburg State University. In 2019, she completed her M.S. in Educational Leadership. Leslie is currently a 5th Grade Teacher in Osawatomie.
